You place your trust in the city council to protect the city’s finances and deliver the services you depend on.
Keith Bohr takes that trust very seriously.
Building Surf City’s Fiscal Foundation
Keith is building up Huntington Beach’s tax base by supporting solid projects such as the Strand, which will provide nearly $4 million in yearly taxes, and Home Depot, projected to generate more than $500,000 in sales tax for the city.
Keith is helping ensure a solid fiscal foundation for police, fire and other critical city services.
Making Sure Huntington Beach Gets Its Fair Share
Keith initiated the annexing of Bolsa Chica by Huntington Beach, ensuring more than $4 million in yearly revenue.
Thanks to Keith’s leadership, money that otherwise would have gone to the county now stays here in
Huntington Beach.
Saving Taxpayer Dollars By Streamlining City Bureaucracy
By taking a close look at the process for approving new projects, Keith identified key changes that will cut
unnecessary bureaucracy, generate new revenue for the city and protect the character of Huntington Beach.
Keith is always looking for out-of-the-box solutions to keep our city budget strong.

QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS
How
will your qualifications best serve the needs of the community?
Should I be elected to the City Council, my learning curve will be very flat as I won't require much, if any time, to become oriented with the process, players, issues, or terminology before fully engaging in the job. My fourteen-plus years of municipal experience will allow me to provide immediate constructive input on the issues at hand as the City Council collectively formulates city policy.
Why do you wish to serve on the city council?
Huntington Beach is my home and I love living here. I feel strongly about contributing to and giving back to one's community via public service. After leaving the employment of the City of Huntington Beach in 1995, I chose to direct my public service energies towards the issue of Child Abuse. Although I now enjoy both working in the private sector and working for the cause of Child Abuse, I still miss contributing to the public process.
After falling just 210 votes on my first try in 2002, I knew I
would have to run again in 2004, when i won my seat on the City Council.
I
hope to be re-elected so I can continue on the successes my
collegues and I were able to accomplish these past four years.
